Lamoral Quartet was conceived at the start of 2015 through the meeting of the 'wellknown' Koen De Cauter (1) and some promising and driven young musicians. They got along straight away and quickly build an original and authentic repertoire that they develop together and sustain.
Apart from the elaboration of forgotten melodies and a number of it’s own compositions, LAMORAL brings forth a mixture of jazz-classics, mainly from the Django-repertoire.
The joy they feel during their concerts is tangible. Without loosing sight of the authentic beauty of melodies, they keep on searching for the most unexpected daring improvisations and explore it’s limits as far as possible.
They live by the philosophy of a life long learning process that engages between heart, gut and head. As a group they look for the recipe to touch an audience and together they direct themselves at the ‘listener’ in people.
